Establish a cooperation mechanism between the police and the media, hang banners and banners in densely populated places such as stations and squares, and distribute publicity materials, and explain the case through activities such as going to the village, entering the community and entering the campus. The Forest Public Security Bureau of the Public Security Department produced three short videos to protect wild animals, such as "The world is too big to live without you", which were continuously broadcast on Inner Mongolia Satellite TV and news comprehensive channel, further improving the people’s consciousness of protecting wild animals and creating a good atmosphere for protecting wild animals. Through publicity and education, many people take the initiative to participate in wildlife rescue work, and the touching story of people living in harmony with wildlife happens around us and is seen in various media. In 2020, the police and the people joined hands to rescue and release more than 1,886 wild animals.
Over the years, the forest police in the whole region have always maintained a high-pressure situation, and continued to carry out regional and seasonal special crackdown actions such as "Spring Thunder", "Green Sword", "Protection of Migratory Birds" and "Protection of Larks", and investigated and dealt with a large number of illegal and criminal cases involving wild animals and their products. The cases of illegal hunting of wild animals have decreased year by year, and the illegal and criminal activities of wild animals in the whole region have been effectively curbed. Since 2017, there have been no cases of hunting transit migratory birds in the whole region. Below, I would like to introduce two typical cases investigated and dealt with in 2020.
The Ximeng Forest Public Security Bureau successfully detected a series of cases of illegal acquisition and sale of precious and endangered wildlife products by using the Internet. The police handling the case traveled all over the country, traveling day and night, with a journey of more than 60 thousand kilometers, covering 18 provinces, autonomous regions and 52 counties and cities. After detailed investigation and evidence collection, the criminal network covering the whole country illegally selling wild animal products was destroyed in one fell swoop. At present, 21 people have taken compulsory measures in this case, and the procuratorate has arrested 5 people, and seized more than 3,300 rare wild animal products under special state protection, such as Beishan Horn, Tibetan Antelope Horn, Tibetan Antelope Horn and Yellow Horn Horn, involving more than 50 million yuan. The case involved a wide area and a large number of people, involving a large number of wild animal products with high value. It is the most influential case investigated and dealt with by the Forest Public Security Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in recent years.
The Forest Public Security Bureau of Hangjinqi, Ordos City cracked a series of cases of "528" illegal hunting, transporting and selling Mongolian rabbits. The characteristics of Mongolian hare’s individual flexibility and fast running speed are particularly prominent in Ordos Plateau. Some lawless elements bought rabbits alive and trafficked them to other provinces, and entered the underground dog gambling market to seek high profits. The Forest Public Security Bureau of Hangjinqi, Ordos City refined measures, dug deep into clues and cracked 6 cases of illegal hunting, transportation and trafficking of Mongolian rabbits. Among them, there was a serious case, in which 261 live and 2 dead Mongolian rabbits were collected, 12 suspects were arrested, and criminal gangs that had been illegally hunting and selling wild animals in the local area for a long time were destroyed, achieving the goal of "catching one group and cracking one case with one string".
